SPORT

Each year, Amefia organises its big national climbing championship. For four months, sixteen of the best climbers of our country are going to face each other in many climbs through the mountains of the North side.

As you already know, or maybe not, each city has already chosen its representative. Among them, there is Casya Krump, winner last year and representing the city of Roberthing. She has trained each week since last final and she is more motivated than ever:

“This championship is very important for me. I've been rock climbing since I was 5 years old. I feel free and unstoppable while I’m climbing. This activity allows me to discover our wonderful country from another angle. Winning is a part of me, and I’ll see you at the final.” – Casya Krump

The course of the Championship

Before being a part of the final, competitors must be among the two best climbers. For that, there will be eight trials, at a rate of two a month (calendar below), during which they will have to win the maximum of points. Many criteria will be analysed: speed, technique, agility, and security.

The final will traditionally take place on Mont Katia, named after King Philippe’s wife. It is one of the highest mountains in Amefia. The two finalists will have to climb it and the first one to arrive at the summit will win the Championship. Rumour has it that our two kings, King Harry, and King Louis, could be present for this special day. It would be their first appearance together since the mysterious death of their father.

Our Forecasts for this year

The sixteen competitors are talented this year. It will be complicated to be the best and win the final. But some of them have already differentiated themselves from other competitors while qualifiers. Here is our top 3:

3. Tom Sazer, representing Plavia, was the fastest in the qualifier round and is already experienced. Indeed, last year he was 3rd in the overall ranking and his journey ended at the gates of the Final. This championship could be his.

2. James Cordon, representing Pallas, is the young discovery of these qualifiers. He’s only 19 years old but has already proved his great qualities at climbing. We look forward to see him climbing.

1. Casya Krump, representing Roberthing, already presented above. She was last year’s winner and the favourite one for the final win.
